Mattoon’s The Tim Blys were in the Cavetone Records studios recently to record a 7″ vinyl EP. They posted a song list on their Facebook page, and the song lineup looks great. No word yet on when the record will be released. I’m sure there will be a launch party somewhere.

Gibbons farewell show with Cenius

After their triumphant debut at Mac’s Uptowner in January, the fates dealt a cruel blow to Cenius when guitarist Christopher “Gibby” Gibbons learned he’d gotten a job offer in Iowa. The Feb. 28 Uptowner show will be the last for this lineup of the band, so be sure and head out and wish Gibby well in his new adventure. No word yet on a replacement.
